Engjaskóli Games - A day of collaboration and joy
Friday, Sept. 30, brought the annual and memorable gathering at Engjaskóli — the ever-popular Engjaskóli Games. On this day, regular classroom activities were set aside and replaced with lively and challenging activities where all students participated in the spirit of collaboration and fun.
What makes the Engjaskóli Games is that students from every grade level are mixed together in smaller groups.
This setup provides an ideal environment for students to build camaraderie, show respect, and get to know schoolmates from other grades. Seventh-grade students play a key role in organizing the day, taking on the important job of serving as group leaders. In this role, they guide younger students, ensure all tasks are completed, and provide necessary help and encouragement. This gives the school's oldest students valuable experience in responsibility and leadership, while ensuring everyone feels safe and supported.
During the Engjaskóli Games, groups tackle a variety of fun challenges that test their creativity, teamwork and even physical skills. All students, from the youngest to the group leaders, gave their best effort and enjoyed working together to solve the challenges.
At the end of this action-packed and enjoyable day, the games drew to a well-deserved close.
To cap off their hard work and all the fun, Engjaskóli treated every student to delicious ice cream.
The Engjaskóli Games truly demonstrate the positive school culture and strong sense of community that defines Engjaskóli. This day will certainly be remembered by students as a perfect example of the value of working together and the importance of having fun together.
